I've noticed that when my character *uses* a container their weight shoots up. For instance, my goblin's carrying weight was at 57 lbs, then once I equipped the backpack (no other changes) it jumped to 111 lbs. Just thought I should bring this to your attention.
That's behaving as intended. It allows the character to discard a particular container in games where encumbrance might be a thing, or to have a container full of items they own but which are not on their person, such as a chest they keep at the local inn with their bulkier, non-adventuring effects. Equipping a container means you're carrying it on your person and its weight applies to your encumbrance. It's a super helpful upgrade to the Containers system and once you know what it's doing and why it's there, it really helps you organize your things.
Depends on what you mean by 'remove item from container'.
You can move it to a differenc container using the 'Move' function at the bottom of the item card, next to 'Remove'
If you want it on your character''s general person instead of in any given container, you move it to 'Equipment', which covers anything you're holding in your hands and/or anything not otherwise designated as being in any other container.
You can also just remove items, if they're consumed/gone, the same way you always could.
Is there some other thing you want to do with moving items I'm not thinking of?

Is there a way to remove items from a container, or is it all just assumed to be in there?

Oh, I see it! It's on the character sheet itself, not something you can see/do on the character creator/editor. Ok. Thanks for the assistance!
