No it has been fixed. Maps is becoming better and better. There are a lot of new tools and you can for instance manage encounters directly in it now with monsters stat blocks, initiative tracker and such. You should give it another try.
Please use the feedback link inside Maps itself for any Maps feedback. That way it will go directly to the Maps team.
I did use the feedback (just now) - and tossing in - I run a Play By Post, with players in different time zones. So having the map always running (so long as the browser hosting the map is running) allows those players to move their tokens as needed. Rather than me screenshoting the map - putting "A through Z" at the top, then 1 through 20 down the left and make them play it like a chess board "I move to A13."....
