I pre-ordered the digital edition on 4/12. Early access on 5/7 was expressly indicated at time of sale. My wife and I both used PTO (which is indeed limited) to get time off from work to run the campaign. We are profoundly disappointed in this rollout and ensuing lack of proper communication. Having to force paying customers to scrounge through forums to obtain any form of communication is unprofessional at best. I don't expect anyone to care or do anything to properly resolve this. I'm sorry to the community managers who are being forced to deal with the fallout that they have no control over. Wizards of the Coast got their money and I sadly don't expect any resolution.

Are you certain that it said you got early access to Eve of Ruin and not the prequel adventure?

Adding my complaint that I specifically pre-ordered the digital believing I would get early access and I'm quite disappointed that the communication was so poor. How do I fix today this so that I can get early access?
I am not sure it would be possible for WOTC to have a more clumsy and ham-fisted approach to releases. How are so many of these epically botched? If not content-wise, then through actual delivery. DND Marketplace is notoriously glitchy, confusing, and not easy to manage on purchases. Promise something; deliver it. It is kind of that simple. How much more goodwill does WOTC want to lose with customers? The internet fallout from this will probably be way more aggressive than management can comprehend. Who is managing releases? Get them help or replace them, immediately. Please put my feedback with contact information if necessary in your spreadsheet.
The confusion is understandable and I can see how it's misleading: on the one hand, those who did preorder prior to the marketplace update will still get early access, but the information about the new marketplace not granting early access was added to a few Vecna-related articles that were very easy to miss. Whether or not it's punishment is subjective because I'm sure the dev team wouldn't see it that way, but everyone is welcome to their opinion about that.
That said, frustrating as it is, your feedback is my best weapon, and I will brandish it to the best of my ability.
Respectfully I would like to feedback that said information wasnt just "easy to miss", it literally wasnt present til after the fact.
I read your articles on day of release, their is absolutely zero point in going back to read it afterwards and adding those caveats a day after the change on old content is absolutely not "missing" being informed - it is rather an utter failing at proper communication from your company.
At the very least their should have been a notification of these changes in ADVANCE and it most certainly should not have affected a product already in sales, rather it should have been a statement of intentment going forward with products that were as yet not in pre-release.
Absolutely shocking communication here... there is no "on one hand..." when that hand informs people 24 hours after the event on two old articles that didnt include that information in the first instance, lets not pretend it was just "easy to miss"... the team just might as well not have bothered. I have now pre-ordered something on the belief i would be getting early access because i wanted to use the content for a session i have this week and now i wont have access to it, while your company still has my money.
Its unacceptable and considering the nearly 5 month issues with denying many of us access to content we had already paid for (that only got fixed two weeks ago) and the debacle about the change in license last year and the repeated statements about D&D being under leveraged to make profits for Hasbro.... your team must realise how these compound failings and miscommunications are continually damaging customer trust. (i am actively at the point of considering cancelling my subscription to yourselves and seeking a new gaming system as i'm so sickened with the absolute contempt that WotC continually show their customers.)
Hello! So I pre-ordered the digital only version on March 4th under the impression that I would get early access. I could have sworn it said early access for digital only. Otherwise, why would anyone pre-order downloadable content? I’m certainly frustrated as I was really looking forward to today. Anyone who pre-ordered should have got early access. I myself DM on discord and have no use for the physical copy, so digital only works just fine. However, unless I purchase something that I don’t need I won’t get the perk? This doesn’t feel right.

Typically the preorder bonuses for digital content include things like character sheet cosmetics and digital dice. This particular book also included a freebie prequel adventure. Early access has been a perk for buying the digital+physical bundle of a book since this model was introduced with the release of Shadow of the Dragon Queen in late 2022 unless I am mistaken. Early access has never been a reward for preordering the digital-only book, as far as I know.
That may be true but how do you explain the countless amount of people claiming they preordered the digital version with the belief they were getting the early access perk? It's because the store's page claimed that it was granting early access to the digital preorder. Even if it didn't explicitly state that (even though it did) there had to be something about how things were worded or presented to give this many people the impression that they were getting early access, not to mention cause major 3rd party websites to report it as well.
I know for myself, and many others, we preordered solely based on the promise of early access. Otherwise I would have purchased my copy from Roll20 upon release.

I agree with you and ive been a customer of DDB since 2018-ish, however the guidance in this instance very much did suggest that a digital only pre-order would get you early access. It may have just been poorly worded though but i dont really see an abundance of this particular issue on any of the other releases.
I pre order the digital version on March 5 and I emailed support about it and they replied back with acknowledgement of me buying it, and than just said the digital pre order bundle was only available to pre order prior to April 30th.
The advertisements still list early access available with purchase. I literally opened a ticket with support today asking to refund my preorder of the digital only so I could switch to digital / physical for the early access. I included a screenshot of the advertisement and nowhere was I advised early access was not going to be available. I feel this is a bait and switch and a very deceptive marketing maneuver to trick folks into getting the more expensive bundle. I will press on my ticket to get early access granted or get the bundle refunded and go back to digital only.

Without question.

Hi, I pre-ordered on April 16th and don't have access to it.
