I’m using Valda’s Spire of Secrets player pack and using the muscle wizard barbarian. When I hit level 6 and get the “Spells” option there is a selection box but I can’t make a selection.

I see now. That is correct
The issues with this is anytime you deactivate Rage it deletes the selection in the character builder
That's intentional.
You aren't meant to select them when out of rage.

Once made Maxwell's Silver Hammer come down upon Strahd's head to make sure he was dead.
