I'm trying to create a mount with the mastiff as my copy. It's almost the same as the original, just 1 AC higher. I keep getting a 403 Forbidden error when I hit SAVE.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's telling me that it's too similar to the Mastiff, which is stupid, because I'm creating a different type of dog.
I tried Firefox, but same thing.
Similarity to extant monsters only matters if you're publishing it for the world to use.
For your own use and use within groups you're playing with, you do not need to do that. (And probably shouldn't, even if it lets you.)
Now, that similarity shouldn't affect what happens if you use the save button.
How do I set it, so that it's just for me?
Unless you explicitly hit "publish", it's private and shared with your groups. (If it's in your homebrew collection. Anything only in your creations is not shared, but still can exist privately.)
So, where do I find it? It's not in the INVENTORY, when I search the name.
I still get the same error message when I try to save it, on 2 different browers.
If it's erroring on the save, the homebrew presumably isn't being created, but the similarity to the Mastiff (probably) isn't the cause.
I don't think so either. I think it's a problem with the homebrew creator.

It isn't supposed to be in the inventory, homebrew monsters are in the Extras tab.
It sounds like you're trying to create a homebrew container.
Okay, where under EXTRAS? I do not see it. I checked several tabs.
Sorry, I did not have "HOMEBREW" checked in the character creation. I just noticed it.
Does this mean it worked?
It should show up among all the other monsters if the selections are correct.
