User story: I would like to be able to go backwards to my previous level; because, I may accidentally level up, I may choose something wrong when I level up (I know there is currently no decision making system when I level up but when there is one), I may simply want to play an earlier version of my character level.
So if I accidentally gave my character level 4 instead of 3 while clicking , I can never go back to level 3 currently.
No. This is an issue; when I level up using the XP or level selection - there is no further prompting to allow me to level up.
I do not want to return to the "Classes" section of the editor and change the level of the character and all of it's currently configured options; starting all over simply to level up/add my new class features to the character sheet...
For me, I was trying to roll my existing character sheet into D&D Beyond. I thought I was level 5, but I'm actually Level 4. This means I was unable to (intuitively) make a correction.
Hoping they will allow you to alter this, given that this is a perfect case of me making a mistake and being unable to fix it intuitively.
When you return to the editor using the edit character function, it *should* keep everything - your new level, your abilities, etc. You don't have to go through the whole creation process over again, you just go to your class section and select the newly available class features.
It's not very intuitive and I totally agree the site should open the window automatically, but it can be done without starting over from scratch.
Yeah, I thought that the level up system is not very intuitive either, however I can vouch you do not need to start over to change your level. When you click to edit your character, all your previous settings should still be there, you just need to change your character's level and the level of the specific class you plan to level up.

According to BadEye's post, this is working as intended. They haven't implemented the ability to de-level characters yet.
You can add new features on a new level by going back into the character editor.

I will create a post for the inability to level my character up. I was unaware that this should be in the current release.
