I was testing out the Game Log with the tracking and the things when I noticed my rolls changed from being "Dagger: To Hit" and "Dagger: Damage" to "Custom: Roll".
After some testing, I think I found two ways this starts to manifest.
First, character and browser parameters:
Character: Warforged Artificer Level 1 (I haven't tried on other characters)
Browser: Chrome with Beyond20 plugin
Upon opening the character if I choose to roll the to-hit for my Dagger, the dice roll and the pop-up window gives the result, properly calculated, and the Game Log also provides the result, properly calculated and tagged as "Dagger: To-Hit". But, if I click the to-hit for the Fire Bolt cantrip, the dice rolls and the pop-up tells me my result, but when I look at the Game Log it states "Custom: Roll" and only provides the result of the d20. This then seems to bug the Game Log and now all rolls are tagged as "Custom: Roll", not adding any of their bonuses, and only showing the result of the die rolled; if multiple dice are rolled the Game Log adds all of the dice (so for Advantage it adds both d20s).
The second way I have gotten this bug to manifest is if I go to, say, the Dagger description and click on red "Beyond 20" the interface rolls both the attack and damage of the dagger, the pop-up window shows the correct outcome, but the Game Log just adds the d20 and the d4 results together labeled "Custom: Roll" instead of splitting the two into "Dagger: To-Hit" and "Dagger: Damage".
Beyond20 is an unsupported, third party extension. As such, it may cause undesirable outcomes as it modifiers the sites behaviour. In order to guarantee that all site elements work as intended, yes, you should turn off extensions that potentially modify D&D Beyond. From what you've described, it sounds like Beyond20 is intercepting the roll request and then passing it back to D&D Beyond as a request for a custom roll. This is why it is interfering with the game log
Thanks for the response. I have the same issue and I am using Beyond20. At this point, until DDB offers a VTT I am stuck using Roll20 but I want my players to have their characters in DDB - because of your awesomeness.
So although your log is awesome - Beyond20 is better at this point. Once you have a VTT I will certainly switch.
I really appreciate all the steps you are taking and I strongly support your strategy to only release new features as you develop and fully test them rather than trying to release too much at once. Keep up the amazing work!
I having the same problem, recently. Im not sure how to Turn off the black die roling on Beyond yet either. And honestly the whole addition of it all feels like its choking on itself. It takes way too long to finally finish rolling its black die, display the results as 'Custom: Rolls' on Beyond, and then another eternity for Roll20 to receive the information and display it in chat. Im also not sure what to do about all my rolls appearing as Crits on Roll20, but at least the green 4's I roll are pretty? Now before ya'll start trying to explain what is happening, I'm a layman. I dont know anything about coding, I just want to click buttons and kill monsters.
Thank you for helping this poor new adventurer!

Hi folks!
I was testing out the Game Log with the tracking and the things when I noticed my rolls changed from being "Dagger: To Hit" and "Dagger: Damage" to "Custom: Roll".

Has anyone else encountered this bug?
Note: Turning off Beyond20 results in correct output in the Game Log. Are we expected to turn off Beyond20?
