Why not, whilst building a character, on the "Home" tab, under "Optional Features" you can choose Vampirism or Lycanthrope (for instance) and then when on your race tab there is a tab where "Racial Traits" and "Origin Manager" are which gives you options for Vampirism and Lycanthrope. You choose Vampire and can choose Vampire Spawn or just straight vampire and then this can implement whatever changes those brings (for Lycanthrope you can choose the type of Lycanthrope - the Blood Hunter has the subclass of Order of the Lycanthrope, where you can go into your class options and switch from Normal Form to Hybrid Form - so I feel that may be a way of making those changes - as a Vampire, you want to change to the cloud of mist to escape, you go there, if you want to change into your wolf form or your hybrid form you go there). Or maybe you even put them on the actual character sheet under "Conditions" or add an addition option under "Defenses" and "Conditions" called "Curses" and it manipulates your character sheet to show what those give you (the ability to shapeshift or regenerate health, or whatever). You could add curses from Van Richten's Guide or any other books which have curses within them. Then you can make a new homebrew section which has curses so curses are easily created with whatever anybody can think of.
Same with Supernatural Gifts, Marks of Prestige, Epic Boons, Dark Gifts, and anything like those among the books there are. Also Madness - why not a "Condition" for Madness within the character sheet??
I'm sure these are on a timeline somewhere, at least I hope they are. Bringing an NPC from a character's past in as a werewolf or vampire is something I really want to do for my group, and homebrewing the races is soooooo much work, and I feel I never completely get it the way I feel it should be (like certain options maybe don't work as they should). And if I wanted to create multiples but they all have different races - it's just frustrating to have to go in and have to build it all again. Of course there are workarounds but, they just aren't as satisfactory as they should be I feel.
All of that being said, I would really love Mutagens from the Blood Hunter Subclass Order of the Mutant to be implemented as well. I have created homebrews of each, but again, some of the options I have tried to implement never seem to work (or there are no options for certain things in the Homebrew builds). They would just be wonderous items or something, you equip them and it implements whatever changes (also a shortcut homebrew system for those could be cool as well - you gain something while something else is hindered - I get these aren't official so I can definitely understand these not going through haha)
I feel a lot of people have asked for these things of course, and I may very well be repeating things that have been said a million times, but I thought I'd try it here. (Mostly so I know exactly where to look for any responses) They are technically official, since they are in the books and DM's are supposed to take control of the character if they are turned into a Vampire or Werewolf - but I kind of hate that concept. Some of my favorite stories have vampires and werewolves as good guys. Also the boons and gifts and curses are official in the books, so I am surprised they aren't implemented yet as well. But I get it's all a bunch of work and you all do soooooo much.
Either way, appreciate everything DNDBeyond does, and I hope to see some of these things in the near future.
