If my character has a bunch of gold, I want to track it in currency, but then it counts the weight. We should be able to put currency in a bag of holding.
Blowgun needles weigh the same as coins and come in sets of 50 to make a pound. So one workaround is to add a bundle of them for each type of coin you want to track for your heavy loot load in a bag of holding, then change the name to "gold pieces" etc., override the bundle value (i.e., 50gp for a bundle of gold coins), and finally set it to the number of coins in your bag.
If you want to track currency stored in different places this way, but also want to track the sum total at the top, you can go to character settings to select "ignore coin weight" so that the sum-total set isn't adding to your weight.
Just stopping by to mention that putting your gold or other coins inside of containers such as your backpack or bag of holding is now supported. Click on your coins, then click on the Settings gear in the upper right corner, then enable "Put coins in containers". Then you will see coin icons on each of your containers. If you are using the party inventory, be sure to ask the other players in your party to also enable this setting so that everyone can see coins that are in the various containers in the party inventory.
