I just wanted to voice my opinion that the loss of ala carte purchases is very disappointing, and the lack of clarity for what I already own is frustrating.
Super scam! I accidently purchased content twice because there is no way to see or filter previously purchased content. WTF?!?! I've put in a request and proof for a refund of the duplicate purchase.
What the heck are they thinking with this "new" store?!?!

Yeah, this "new" store really makes use of their no refund policy. They are getting no more money from me subscription cancelled too.

CENSORSHIP IS THE TOOL OF COWARDS and WANNA BE TYRANTS.
i am also infuriated by the removal of the a la carte option. i have had so many new players learn better and understand the game more easily because dndbeyond would help them with all the moving parts. those people ALL end up going out and buying books in the future because they enjoy the game. now i would rather play daggerheart and just avoid dnd altogether.
Am I the only one who can't buy digital copies? I wanted to pick up Fizban's Dragons and Book of Many Things, but it won't let me select the digital option? I don't want a physical copy cause I don't play in-person games and I don't like physical character sheets.
I'm getting really frustrated cause every time I check the digital books, and I click add to cart, it ads the physical version which is like... almost triple the price.
I tried going on WOTC site, but it said to get a digital only version, I need to do it through here... but it will not let me?
This new Marketplace update is awful
UPDATE: It turns out, I just had to click digital a bunch of times before it processed that I wanted the digital copy. but learning that the piecemeal option is gone. there are so many things I purchased as a la carte cause I didn't care for the whole sourcebook :/
For the love of the Gods I pray for this interface to be rolled back to a prior build. Design-wise graphically It looks nice, but the damn function only functions to make me upset. Things are not where they are supposed to be, my bundles are gone and I had just saved up for legendary..
I can't as well as before keep the overview over what I own and can buy, and is a nightmare to add each item individually and makes me feel like I am overspending instead of just doing a simple single purchase.
I was more than willing to pay for the a la carte options because of the convenience and now I'm just kind of infuriated that I thought a system that used to be so accessible for me to use would stay that way. Honestly shame on you DND Beyond, I will be unsubscribing from your service.
I'm very disappointed by removal of a la carte purchases. Its flexibility caused me to purchase much more content than I expected I would. Most of the content I own was purchased a few dollars at a time.
It's also quite silly that customers with a la carte purchases need to contact customer service to get the credit applied to new purchases. That's a dark pattern designed specifically to generate additional profit due to double dipping. I can't see myself jumping through a bunch of extra hoops to get credits applied. It sounds like more work than it's worth.
It's now much harder for me to justify purchasing in-app content. It's now much more cost effective for me to pick up second-hand physical copies of the books instead.
So do they teach anything in business school anymore? How could you piss off a fan base so much? It's like you need to know how to piss off fans these days to run a company. The lack of al la carte options means I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another thing from DnDBeyond. Maybe this plan will get people shopping in hobby shops and bookstores again. What a dumb move. To the reddit to see how to get around these stupid decisions.
I know I'm just sharing what everyone else is saying, but I am beyond livid that being able to do individual purchases for class bundles, feat bundles, etc. has been completely removed. That was the ONLY reason I ever decided to invest money into DnD beyond content. I am beyond livid. I have owned the hardcopy books well before they came out with the digital/physical bundles so purchasing the classes and backgrounds and so on separately was the only reason I was willing to spending money on this freaking site. I love the character builder and campaign manager for said characters. It is why I started subscribing to this site. But now after this!? I am not repurchasing the entire book when I already own the hardcopies. It's pointless! Purchasing the items separately was my only reason for buying products on here. I could go on for days with the frustration I feel towards this decision of WOTC.
And on top of that, when I have already spent $16 on bundle packs from books, I now have to pay ANOTHER $30 just to get access to the backgrounds I didn't purchase? And there are no discount options for those of us who have the ala carte content?
AND THEY NEVER FREAKING ANNOUNCED AHEAD OF TIME THEY WERE DOING THIS?!?!?!?!?!

SUPER CRUMMY ON YOU WOTC.
The fact that they make these changes (changes to a la carte, changes to no more early access, changes to the marketplace in general) WITHOUT warning is the alarming part.
This should be a major wake up call to everyone that digital content can be removed, altered, and otherwise changed on a whim.
Easy resolution : provide proper notice BEFORE changes are made AND make logs available for after changes ARE made.

I'm kind of floored how badly this has been bungled. I consider myself a bit of a DDB whale... I picked up the Legendary Bundle relatively early and have picked up most books released since, with the goal of owning all of the WOTC books digitally. With the sale going on, I thought it'd be worth it to check the marketplace for books I haven't picked up yet to add to my collection, but it's basically impossible to do so in a reasonable way... everything now has to be checked individually, and I can't even trust the page to properly display the "You own this!" blurb. I checked "Hunt for the Thessalhydra" and the marketplace seems to believe I don't own it, even though I can open it in DDB right here and now.
Players who used to pick up specific classes, spells, and other character bits to play with have now defaulted to copy and pasting poorly formatted garbage from various wikis, with no particular mind to whether it's the ACTUAL Circle of Spores subclass or if it's someone's "rebalanced" version, which is creating a lot of disappointed conversations with folks who would have previously thrown money at DDB and called it good.
It felt fair to give it a couple of months to see of things improved, but we're knocking on June's door and the marketplace is almost unusable right now. I wanted to believe that WOTC taking DDB internal and making it the web's hub for D&D would result in long-term support of an even better product, but it feels like this is the writing on the wall to stop buying before they shut it all down and blame flagging sales. Especially disappointing with the rules refresh only a matter of months away.
Does ANYONE know where to actually request those discounts through customer support? I have been looking for that for a few days now, and let me tell you, this is just beyond frustrating.

Yes, this lack is infuriating. Give me a section of sources that ONLY SHOWS WHAT I OWN. It's shady, inconvenient and incredibly irritating.

Scummy and scammy. It's like a slip-slide into accidentally purchasing something you already own, too.

Preach!
Has there been any official comment on this by DDB somewhere? They can't possibly just be ignoring this backlash for weeks..?
