So, as all of us who read the announcements know, they're doing a ground-up rebuild of the game engine.
I have one simple suggestion to ensure the transition goes smoothly:
DO NOT force everyone onto the new engine immediately when it's time to go public! Run a public beta phase where people can create a converted copy of their sheets or something, or start it with newly built characters only. Either way is fine to kick things off. Let people become accustomed to it, and give time for the first couple waves of bugs to be worked out. Announce the end-of-service date for the old builder to show people they need to learn the new one, but let the community grow into it instead of falling face-first.
And if you're really smart, you'll create at least a basic guide that players can choose to view from the sheet which shows where anything has moved.
