The overall look of the website looks fantastic. I am already excited what else there is to see. Below I have some feedback on the sections in the headers. These are personal ideas and hopefully they are something you, the developer, and the people in this community can build off of.
Compendium:
(+) I love the initial look of the compendium. Has all the manual topics right there in front of me. Being a veteran player I know where to find all the information right there on one screen. I also love that when you click on an option, for example, "Alignment". It takes you to the information and on the left is a menu off all the alignments and that this menu scrolls with you.
(-) My feedback for this would be to allow the user to flow to another topic a little smoother. Instead of having to go back a menu and find another. I had the idea of having a master table of contents similar to the web Adobe PDF can work. Allow that initial menu to display while within a topic and allow the user to navigate from "Alignment" to "Conditions" easier. Obviously this idea would not be as small as the scroll with menu already in place. Just an idea to smooth the transition from topic to topic. I usually always have the pdf manual open and have all the page numbers written on a sticky note since I mainly play VTT (virtual table top).
Spells:
(+) THIS LOOKS AMAZING! Every bit of information I need about a spell I am using, my party members are using, or even as a DM hearing someone call out a new spell. The damage effect section really simplifies what the overall goal of the spell is. Great start to this section.
(-) My feedback here would be about the effects that take the players will from the character (i.e. charms, frighten, incapacitate, etc). I like that the you, the developer, used an (*) on the Material components of spells and have it listed later on the spell block. Why not do something similar for the effects mentioned before? Use a double astrix (**) after the effect and have it described below the Component listings. It will save the user from having to look at the spell, and then go back to the compendium and look up the conditions, or avoid having to have players have multiple tabs over, again I am a VTT player so the less tabs open the better especially for those Google Chrome users with low RAM.
Items:
(+) Again this section looks great and very straight forward. The minimized bar for the item sums it up very well and if I want to know more, just click. It looks clean and crisp.
(-) Don't really have anything for this suggestion. I open the floor to the comments/replies for more input of the Items section.
Monsters:
(+) You, the developer, are on a roll with how to display the information I need at a glance. Especially as a DM looking for monsters. I was happily suprised to find that "View Monster Page" button that really went in depth about the monster and even included the picture out of the Monster Manual. I am a visual person and love to see what I am up against in the world my DM creates. I am excited for the "Browse Homebrew" option to open up.
(-) Not much here
Overall:
(+) I love the start of how things are looking and can't wait to see where the future brings this website.
(-) For overall feedback, so far its just stuff from manuals and it looks fantastic. I don't know what else you got in the background that is coming out in the future but I've seen websites like this crash and burn when it comes to who they are making these for. Some create these websites for the players, so for the DMs, but my personal favorite websites are found when developers have players and DMs in mind. Allowing players to pet pages, and easy access to their characters pages (which is coming out in phase 2). Also allowing DM's easy access to their homebrew bad guys and npcs, and a space for themselves to create characters for fun and future encounters.
I wish you all luck and I cant wait to see whats coming next.
