I recently realized, while running two campaigns, that there is a bit of a missed spot in the Long Rest feature.
I have players in two separate campaigns that wear medium/heavy armor. When they take a long rest wearing their armor we use the rule presented in Xanathar's Guide to Everything which states that they only recover 1/4 of their spent hit dice. When you click the Long Rest button it automatically tracks it as the Player's Handbook rule and assumes they wore no armor while sleeping, which restores 1/2 of their total hit dice.
I think there should be a way to manually alter the Hit Dice pool for such circumstances as PCs that take Long Rests while wearing Medium or Heavy armor.
Oh that's what I mean. There is no way to manually manipulate the number of spent/available Hit Dice at the moment. If my players check off the boxes but don't actually, mechanically, hit 'Confirm' for a Short or Long Rest, it does not save that. I was referring to a way to manually change the Hit Dice after a rest, without having to manipulate the dice spent/available and hit Long Rest over and over again to get it 'just right'.

The character sheets don't support many of the variant rules yet.
For now, you will just have to manually change it back after a rest.

You know what, I never noticed that hit dice changes are lost if you refresh the page without confirming the short rest.
Still, since you just took a long rest, there shouldn't be any harm in taking a short rest to save hit dice changes.
