Are there plans or is it possible within the current code base to expand the functionality of the advanced filters? Boolean operators, the ability to query text from spells rather than spell names, etc. In theory it should be possible given this is all information stored in a database somewhere, just not sure what the D&D Beyond sprint's look like, etc.
* supporting regular expression would be fantastic!
Agree. Support for Regular Expressions would be amazing and would provide great flexibility to display a specific list of spells.
Additionally, the ability to 'save' a Regular Expression (or any set of filters for that matter) so that that set of spells could be easily recalled would be brilliant.
Even with a reduced set of basic operators such as | . + * ^ ( ) etc., it would be nice.
All I'd like for filters is a way to add a filter for notes. Many of the Magic Items require attunement from a specific class, but you can't search for items by class.
Agree. On the same note, when you click on Advanced Filters or Collapse Filters it snaps you to the top of the page. A bit nit-picky but with how smooth the design is everywhere else, it'd be nice if it just expanded in place, instead of returning you to the top of the page.
A slightly smaller change - I'd prefer a third option when it comes to V S M in spell filtering. My characters sometimes wish to specialize in verbal-only spells, so filtering out anything with somatic or material would save a ton of time. Instead of only a "must-have-this-component" on/off, I'd like to see a Yes/Either/No rotation when the option is clicked. Green for "must have", clear for either way, red for "must not have."
This would cut my spell selection time by way more than half for most of my characters.
An ancient and evil spirit has awakened deep in the far reaches of the internet and awoken this ancient request. The very forum becomes slightly darker knowing that after all this time, this simple request has gone unfulfilled!
No one has has yet mastered the secret art of combining search terms. May the overlords be terrified if anyone gain the power to search for monsters using combinations of key terms, like "golem OR construct" or the more powerful "giant AND beast", or the most sinister of them all "demon NOT devil".
Truly such evil can never be unleashed unto the general populous, or could it?

For V,S,M a Must/Must Not selection would indeed be nice.
Additionally, an [M w/ gp value] and an [M w/o gp value] would be very useful.
They just give us direct SQL injection access and an ERD. :P

I was going to post this exact thread but since it's already here: boolean, please?
