36 players is, IMHO, more than enough for "standard" usage. It's the three campaigns that I find somewhat limiting. Sure, with the 12 players and 99 characters limit I can cram everybody in, but I'd rather have a different campaign for each different game (even if it's a brief adventure and not a weekly game).
I wholeheartedly agree, I play with about 15 or so other people across various groups but we run about 6 different campaigns on monthly/weekly basis. Everyone is able to join the campaigns they're a part of and I've got people doubling up different campaigns, but it's really annoying for me to keep track of.
