I went through the character creation then got to the equipment. Something I kind of have a issue with is when you go into the equipment manager it doesn't list the starting equipment for the class or race or what you get. I read through it but by the time I got there I forgot what a Druid High Elf would get. This is something that might be a issue on starting off from level 1 creation because I can equip anything I know people are suppose to be honest as well but there is no starting gold value or anything showing up on this part.
My other issue is what if I never played 5th edition or ever created a class before. Would I truly understand or would my first thought be OHHHH armor is all showing up I can add this and that it is allowing me to add it so I guess these are all basic starting level armor options and weapons.
The level-1 character generation seriously hits a snag at this point in the process. From a UX perspective, this particular element is completely head scratching- so much so that I assume it just isn't finished yet and this wasn't properly communicated.
Stuff like Arcane Focus not appearing in the search (and many other starting items) and starting gold not being calculated for you are hard stops for anyone who isn't familiar with DnD or isn't familiar with rolling for starting amounts.
Last night, I attempted to walk my girlfriend through the process only to reach this step (I'd also mention that it seems sorcerer's only have 1 origin option (Draconic) available in the builder). When we began building her starting loadout, I realized how cumbersome this was going to be as I couldn't find several of the starting items in the drop down list. My gut reaction is that this stuff should just be automatically put into the character's inventory OR should be a screen of dropdowns that precede the full inventory building experience. This portion should also come AFTER the gold generation so that we can attempt to buy some additional items prior to starting the adventure.
