I use the filter to sort out my purchased content. At the bottom of the filter options, there is a “sources” option that will bring up a check box for all the books (in abbreviated format for some odd reason).
Granted this only works if you buy the complete book. There should be an overall “paid content only” check.
Here's one more to second this. The sales pitch should happen in the "Marketplace", not in the "Sources" section.
For example: I just bought the Rick&Morty adventure. To access it, I have got to "View All" in the Sources->Adventures section because the dropdown menu is crammed with stuff I don't own so much that there isn't any room for it, and on this page scroll two screens over products I don't own to get to this adventure.
Also, it quite often isn't really obvious when you end up at a sales pitch. For example: The adventure Rrakkma is described as "AN INTRODUCTORY ADVENTURE FOR MORDENKAINEN'S TOME OF FOES" and even has it's own Adventure Code. So my thought was: "Cool, I own Mordenkainen's Tome (in print), so let's take a look at it". But where did I end up doing this? At the sales page for Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes ... #doh!
I know that dndbeyond is based on / lives of selling stuff, but I bet that returning customers are a way better source for sales than new ones. And the way the page is presented at the moment does definitely not say that Curse wants his existing customers to have a good time on it.
I have to add to this. It is really a pain in the ass to find the adventures i own in the "Soruces" menu. It's ridiculous that i have to search manually for the stuff i own. The menu should at least be splitted into two parts: owned and not owned. With the owned source books and adventures on top of the list.
OK, the lack of an ability to either (1) save/persist search filter options, or (2) have an option to only show my purchased (or available) content, especially given that I am paying a monthly subscription fee, is becoming infuriating. Now that I have purchased various sources, each time when I search I need to repeatedly recall and add "sources" to avoid wasting additional time scrolling through content that isn't relevant for what I am looking for is super frustrating. As a developer, I recognize how simple the most basic option of adding a minimal non-persisted "only show available content" checkbox option would be. If this was an intentional omission by management in order to showcase/advertise additional purchases, it is a poor way to do it, and is counter-productive. You have competitors, so be nice to your users, especially the ones with paid subscriptions who are also purchasing content. We have options too.
The irony is you can filter out owned content in the Market place! Sources should only show owned content or allow it to be set to only show owned content.
Just made my first purchases. Too bad i cannot ask for a refund. Never imagined i couldn't filter the content i bought to read it without this absurd paywall.
DDB, it's really simple ... On the Source page add a marker on all titles purchased by the user. It could be a checkmark, a gold frame around the purchased titles - or even better around the titles not purchased...

You can. In the Compendium App you can set it to only show owned content, and in most of the website searches you can filter by source in Advanced Search. The issue is, if you own several it takes a while to filter the search each time.
There needs to be a global preference setting for "Show Owned Content Only" as well as an option in all Advanced Searches so you can filter/unfilter in bulk as needed. But have it also highlight anything you do own if you have no filtering.
Another voice to the chorus. With so much content, this is a *required* usability feature, not a luxury. Please implement asap. I would accept the ability to save/reload filter preferences between sessions as well!
There are now 25+ Source books and 30+ Adventure books available on DnD beyond. I totally understand the need to advertise and market your available products, but NOT at the detriment to the rest of the service. Not being able to simply search for what I have purchased (and filter out what I have NOT purchased) is a NECESSARY tool for the continued use of this site. There is simply too much content available to have to manually click on every book I want to search every single time. Give us an 'Available Content' or 'Owned Content' filter option in the searches. Throw in more ads for the stuff we don't own if you have to, but at least make the site usable!
Well, it’s 2024 and people have been asking for this simple, incredibly user friendly implementation since 2017. That’s long enough to have completed medical school and be a practising doctor.
The only reason I went to DND Beyond is because critical role advertised it so hard. I didn’t realise how aggressively unhelpful the website is. The filter is such a tiny thing to ask. If I were playing this at home with my own library I wouldn’t have a shelf full of sealed ghost books I had to flip through trying to find the one I wanted.
But as I say, it’s been 7 years. They ain’t gonna do it. Pathetic.
Guess what! I've solved this! You can very easily create a bookmarklet which will automagically set the source filters to a preset list with a single click.
I described the process in full in this reddit post, but in case it disappears, here is the bookmarklet code:
Now that the site does have so much legacy content, it is becoming difficult to search for relevant content based on the books I choose to use at the table during a campaign. Maybe you want to use the core three books plus Xanathar's, the MotM and Icewind Dale. Do I really need all the goblin variants from a half a dozen other supplements I have no interest in cluttering up the search results? There should at least be a way to limit the site search from within a campaign. Make me toggle things off myself. Please stop making me bring everything to the table at once, including what I have not bought yet. It's getting messy in there.
This is still so needed but especially with the push with all the 3rd party content and forcing us to use 2024 rules. I have to go and select between like 60+ sources now. This is crazy and unusable. For the first time, we are using paper character sheets and scrapping the app entirely. Horrible.

Implementing a proper "only purchased content" search option would be vastly cheaper than developing yet another VTT.
Totally agree that being able to just check "show only purchased content" in the filters would be a huge improvement!
How has this not been sorted yet??????

Should have been a feature from launch.
We've been asking for it for years now.
They don't give a Crap.
Hope yall like yer digital $ dice you'll never use though.

It's so hard to use anything I have on Beyond when I have to sift through all these links to things I don't have.

Utterly ridiculous that there isn't a page on the website that clearly and simply shows you the content you own.

Apologies for replying to this long-dead thread, but I figure if you've replied to it then you may want to know!
