I am creating characters for a one shot with my friends and some characters that are not the same class have the same exact spells and I am trying to change them so there is more variety within the party. How would I be able to change them to my liking?
I'm not sure I follow. Every class lets you choose the spells you know or at least which ones you prepare. If you're creating these characters, how did they get the spells they have?

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
On the same page where you choose the class you select the spells. Directly onder the class' name it should say "class features" and "spells" - those are buttons to open their respective menus. Class features is open by default, if you click on Spells that menu will open up.
To clarify: that's in the builder. If you have the character sheet open, there's a hammer on anvil symbol in the top right corner. Clicking on that will take you to the builder to change the character. Step 2: Class is where you change spells, it'll normally go there directly if you go to the builder from an existing sheet.
I suggest creating a character or two from scratch manually, that'll show you the various steps and options.
