I voted divination even though the answer is "depends on what I am trying to do". IMO, divination allows a wizard to do what it does best: Use magic to change the nature of the battlefield. Being able to force an enemy to fail a save with portent is unmatched by any other feature. If I were looking to deal damage, I am likely going bladesinger or evocation. If I am looking to protect my party, I'm probably going abjuration.
If I want to walk around with my middle finger extended....divination. Portent is imo, that good.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
I think Abjuration and Divination are tied for my favorites. I feel like the portent ability is very strong. Abjuration's 2nd level ability is also very strong. The Diviner's The Third Eye ability is very strong. I also think the Abjurer's 14th level ability is pretty good.

This is how I feel.
Bladesinger is great if you don't mind not getting any class features until 10th level, and even then, you're probably not going to use that. Ditto with the 14th level ability. While the 6th level ability gives you incentive to do something like Booming Blade/Green Flame Blade or something else, it puts the very squishy wizard in melee. The 2nd level ability is STRONG, and it really does keep scaling pretty well since the Int becomes a bonus to both your armor class and con saves, but you essentially go "Well, I got my capstone. Now what?"
I personally love the Enchantment subclass. It gives the wizard something to do without using spell slots to have an effect on combat/roleplay at 2nd, and its 6th level ability gives it something to consistently think about its reactions that ISNT counterspell, which I think is great.
That being said, Divination is the choice. Portent is just one of the most powerful abilities in the game, and combined with the 6th level ability of "Hey, if I shield, and then mind spike at 2nd level, I get the first level slot back. Now I cast mind spike at 3rd, get the 2nd slot back. Now I cast it at 4th, get the 3rd slot back. Now I cast it at 5th, get the 4th slot back. I just cast five spells, and only used one spell slot."
Only 4 have been released for 2024 PHB. No other expanded rules for 2024 have been released yet.

For 2014 rules I would have said Order of Scribes. Energy Substitution, a use for garbage spells, and 2 options for where your spells come from are pretty potent, and potent reasonably early - which always beats more potent in the endgame unless you are playing in a one-shot with characters already high in level.
2024, well, I'll need to see some in play first.

So... do we have write-ups for the Transmuter, Necromancer, Conjurer, etc... subclasses? In some other book? Only the 4 in PHB 2024, so...?
