I am making a subclass based around sloth and wanted to add additional hit dice to any character who chooses the class to make short rests better. How would I do that? I can't find anything in modifiers.

I don't ever mean to be rude in my replies, I just have trouble resisting a good argument ;P
Hit dice are tied to level, there's no way to change that. Instead, you could give the class a self-healing ability that's only usable on a short rest. Either a bonus that they get by spending hit dice, or a pool of self-healing dice. Either one works.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
