I plan to take physical notes, and I was wondering how to organize my homebrew campaign -- both the story on paper and my binder. Should I write it the way it is in the books, with blocks for the parts you're supposed to read and notes for everything else? Is there a better way to do it? How do you recommend ordering the binder? Which tabs should I label what? I'm probably overthinking this, but I'm very excited. Thank you!
An electronic note that can transfer between devices would perform a lot better. As you expand the detail of your world, new information won't fit in to the organization of your previous notes, forcing you to have unorganized notes or redo your notes. Everyone has different priorities and capabilities with notes though, the are some useful videos on YouTube for suggestions.
I use mainly GoogleDrive for campaign information, plus physical maps. But I know a lot of people like using OwlbearRodeo, which is free, or AboveVTT which is also free
I write out specific bits in advance only if it's important e.g. I wouldn't write out the detailed description of a town, I would just have a short general description so I remember which town is which. But for puzzle rooms or specific events I might write things in advance
Hello! First time DM here :)

This sounds pretty cool! Any sites you'd recommend or helpful YouTube channels?

World anvil is pretty popular. Never used it myself, but I hear good things.

A lot of people, myself included, use oneNote, it's really good and you can link inside your own file.
I use google docs for writing campaign notes!
