How cool would it be, for people who don't know any people who play D&D and can't find a good game on Roll20, that there is a textchoice rp game that is developt by DnDBeyond?
I tried a few games myself, but people always are to busy or lose interest. I would love for a solo game, so I can play a character till the end of a story. If putting a character in the game with DnDBeyond would be possible I guess
there's a large solo community out there if you go looking (you won't find anything solo-specific on DDB - nor will you in the foreseeable future imo). You could also look at this pub, which is very popular - its designed to be played solo but my son and I played it together as a 2 character party with no DM. The pub is kinda pricey (imo) for an adventure but we thought it was great. The pdf is a huge resource hog though as it has some sound files embedded in it (which is actually kinda cool) and it didn't work on my older laptop, but did on the newer one.
We enjoyed it a lot and bought a couple of the follow-ons. The author said he's taking the story all the way to 20, but at the rate of development, my kid will get to 20 first :p
I'd love it. I'd even write it myself if they asked. I've got an idea outlined for a D&D tutorial solo game. It wouldn't take much to write it up on Twine.
Baulders gate 3 is in early access. It’s not exactly 5e, but it’s pretty close. Could be another year or so before full release. And Solasta, Crown of the Magister uses the 5e srd plus what are basically some homebrew subclasses. It has been released fully, plus they’ve been adding dlc with more classes. And there’s community members making new adventures.
