hey guys, so i found the maps, downloaded the zips, unzipped the images which is a jpeg, i go the maps app, browse maps, i find the map i unzipped and the app says the map file is too big... 10 mbs allowed and the image is 16 mbs... So i try to load the unzipped file into maps, doesnt recognize them... what am i doing wrong? any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
edit- i just seen Davyd answered this question in another thread already. Kinda silly they sell you a maps that you can't use in maps buuuuuut it is what it is.
It's worth pointing out that the map pack was released long before Maps was a twinkle in WotC's eye. It's intended to be hi Res so you can print out the maps without them going blurry. That's in opposition to the goal of the Maps feature, which needs mid-low res to maintain performance.
That said, I do think they should do something to make them work - either make an exception or produce lower Res versions for VTTs.

Said maps were released years before Maps launched and were released at a file size to best enable being printed or uploaded to VTTs.
Given that the plan is to backfill them into Maps as pre-configured options, there's no reason to change the file size (reducing the quality) or add multiple versions (increasing the download size)
