I am trying to put all of the pre-made character sheets I made for two different campaigns into one master campaign "Folder" so my players can use them. I have three questions.
As I understand it, the only way I can move characters I made to a new campaign I am making is to create a new D&D Beyond account, buy a separate subscription for it, create the new campaign there and then send myself the link to so I can then transfer them. Is that true or can I do it on my current account?
Can I share the campaign in a way that is view only, and then once they have made a choice I can then send them a link to the character so they can download it and add it to their account. (Its a public game so I don't want to give access to my account to everyone)
If they can download the character and add it to their account, could they still play the character if they do not own something used in the character, such as the race, subclass, spells, feats, etc?
You can create a lot of characters in your campaign which are marked as Unassigned - allowing the players you've invited into your campaign to choose one of them.
The players simply "claim" the character. They don't "download" anything to their own account. Once claimed, they can edit anything on the character.
You don't need to send a link to yourself, since you can see the link on the campaign's web page, so simply click on that link and select a character to add to the campaign.

What? No. If the character is already in a campaign, just leave the current campaign. You would have to do this anyway whether you made a new account or not, I don't know what you think a second account add to the situation.

I think you can share the campaign's URL and the characters and description will be visible, but they won't be able to join without the join link (which won't be visible while viewing the campaign as an outsider).

They may not be able to gain levels in a subclass they don't have propped access to (owned or shared), but everything already added to the character should still be usable as long as it isn't changed or removed.
You can turn on content sharing with a master subscription so they can change the character in the sharing campaign (they can temporarily add the character back as long as they still have the join link).
Make sure to make backups of any characters you add unassigned. Once they are claimed, they will be removed from your character list.

Hello,
I am trying to put all of the pre-made character sheets I made for two different campaigns into one master campaign "Folder" so my players can use them. I have three questions.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Every player creates their own free account.
