Ello, This may not be the right thread to post this in but, me and some friends are new to running on D&D Beyond especially Since I've had an Acute Case of Covid and all of us are always busy that we rarely get time to play D&D together. I would like to know how would I run a pre-made campaign say like Rise of Tiamat, I have the hard copy I kind of figure I'll have to get the digital but, what would be the best way to do it? I've used the app for my character sheets and such but not to play a campaign. Any help/info would be great.
Depending on your set up, you can just use Zoom or similar. If you're doing theatre of mind, that should be enough. Just point the camera at the dice for rols or have multiple cameras. If you use minis, you can have a camera pointed at the battlemap.
That's not to say you shouldn't go virtual and use VTTs etc, but don't feel you have to. Especially if you've already laid down the money for a physical book.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Personally, after some experimenting with having both digital and physical copies (coincidentally Tyranny of Dragons hard copy book) I find It’s easier to run campaigns online with D&D beyond, as you can easily show the maps and build encounters with the right monsters. However it’s not essential and you could still take photos/scans of the maps from your book etc.
Having the App also helps with monitoring your players dice rolls (if that’s a concern), but you need your players to also use D&D beyond (free account is ok) and attach their characters to your campaign.
