I don't know what keeps calling me back, it's like a weird addiction. I must be crazy because it's like I keep thinking I might like it this time. I want to be convinced to stop trying instead of this back and forth for decades crap.
I might have asked this earlier, but do you think you can quantify the parts you enjoy and the parts you dont? kind of like a pro/con type of check list?
I will agree 100% that the difference between an "ok group and dm" vs "these are cool people I enjoy hanging out with IRL" can make or break a persons fun in this or any game.
IF what is important to you is the game parts, is it combat? LACK of combat? role playing, LACK of role playing? Just hanging around people(some people, such as myself like the social part of the game since Im fairly anti social).

I mean, nobody can force you to play D&D. You can just walk away!
