I have a group of 9 adventurers (A lot of scaling this campaign!), with enough investigation for a group of level 2's on the cusp of being level 3. I've hidden a sword that starts as a silvered longsword but has the potential to gain 1D4 poison damage with a DC of (10-12), if the PC decides to take the risk for the deity who is willing to bless the sword. Is that too much? Maybe adding a +1 to it instead is more balanced?
I don't feel like it's too game breaking, but I'm still new to the DM thing and hoped others would look at it and poke holes in it or at least tell me where I could improve! I've tried looking at different sources to gauge it's power level but they're not giving me as much insight as I had hoped.

Compare to a Dagger of Venom. It uses an action to add poison to attacks for the next minute, once a day. The dagger is "Rare" but also has a +1.
