Your DM said you are alcohol poisoned for 7 days. Ok. Is that 7 "real" days? As in 7 player sessions? Because else i see no reason why not the whole group said: "Ok, we pay the tavern for a week, and you throw 7 times the dice and we just jump the time forward"? Then the poisoning would have been handled within a few minutes, within a single session.

Indeed. This is why I brought up those rather paranoid considerations. Seven sessions would be bad enough but it could be even more brutal to sit out seven days of in game time. Depending on what they’re doing and how heavily they role play, OP could be benched for ages.
As you say, why not work it so the poison is cleared in a way that promotes OP’s participation rather than preventing it? I hope for OP’s sake it’s nothing more than inexperience.
