So since a couple weeks ago we've played a bit of this campaign, and between our party we have a Fighter-Like class (Homebrew) a Bard who is probably going college of swords, and myself, a hexblade warlock. I'm lv 2 right now, roll for stats 8, 16, 17(+1), 13, 16, 18(+2) Reborn Winged Tiefling. So I have pretty good fortitude, probably higher health than the fighter, and a longsword. Being a Hexblade, I have the Agonizing and Repelling Blast invocations, and I plan on taking Thirsting Blade, Eldritch Smite, Devil's Sight (Needed. Underground Campaign), and Lifedrinker. Also plan on taking the Crossbow Expert and Metamagic Adept feats, and something else. Idk if I need any ASI, but you never know. Finally, I plan on taking my next 3 levels in Sorcerer (Lunar Sorcery), which will put me behind to be sure, but to get those decent support spells, and fluctuating ability to cast good spells. My ultimate plan is by level 8 I can attack twice with Thirsting Blade, throw a smite onto anything I feel like proning, then quickened spell EB my opponent out of melee range with Repelling Blast and fly off to another attacker or far enough away, so I have good control. So I had a couple questions about this build or what I should take instead:
st: The bard was wondering if they should go a different bard to become more support and healing, and I told them to just go wherever they want. I figured with my flight, advantage on death saves, and the Hexblade's curse, I should be durable to make up for the bard being unable to prioritize healing. (Its kinda a limited magic campaign, kinda.) Should I go Divine Soul instead and become a Paladin essentially? The divine soul offers good abilities, and I can become supportive, but Idk if its too much, or not enough.
nd: Do I go Warlock 17 / Sorcerer 3 or Warlock 14 / Sorcerer 6. 17/3 offers a 9th and 8th level spell, Foresight being just that good, and the final 5th level slot. But I lose out on a lot of sorcerer slots, spells, and features, such as the Lunar sorcerer's cheaper metamagic option, that realistically lets me cast my eldritch blast with whatever I want for free. I also gain the spell Catnap from sorcerer's, and if I wanted to I could stock up on sorcery points before that nap with any remaining Warlock slots. Idk, its a difficult balance, but I think I could make a good build out of this. And is there a better way to level this?
rd: What feats should I take? I think Metamagic Adept and Crossbow Expert are a must, but should I take Eldritch Adept? Maybe Fighting Initiate? I think I'm going to use a longsword for most of the game, but it could be better. I suppose I haven't even considered the Improved Pact Weapon invocation.
th: Now this gets harder, do I even take the Pact of the Blade? I could heighten my healing with it, but I'm not sure what else other than the help action?
