When a feature is any kind of "non-formulaic", it doesn't get the support it needs.
Apothecary might be partially supported, but I don't think it would be well-supported due to those little bits of non-conformity.
Why only the Illrigger & Blood Hunter, & possibly the Apothecary, but not The Tamer immediately & all the original classes & subclasses from Valda's being rejected in favor of a April Fool's Day themed joke pack, despite the Valda's devs said they were willing to go above & beyond for?
It feels like there's some hesitancy going on regarding anything that even mildly breaks the mold.

Once made Maxwell's Silver Hammer come down upon Strahd's head to make sure he was dead.
Always study & sharpen philosophical razors. They save a lot of trouble.
Don’t forget the Blood Hunter was added before the WotC buy out and I suspect was only on here due to the Critical Role sponsorship. Doesn’t look good if everyone is sat at the table with their iPads using the sponsor while Taliesin is sat at the end using pencil and paper because DDB doesn’t have Molly’s class
It's not like Dungeons of Drakkenheim is small time... 3 live campaigns and 3 source books. This newest Monsters of Drakkenheim is PACKED with great monsters, artwork, and lore for the city. If you've made it into campaign 2 or 3 then you could see the appeal of a caster class that has to obtain power through dark means outside of traditional magical learning at the academy.
I mean they dropped the Illrigger, which seems much more complicated than the Apothecary.
& notice how much is "Unsupported at this time"

I hate all this, they added monsters of drakkenheim which is great but I’ve been waiting for Sebastian’s since the kickstarter and it’s not here :(
Same!
