Has it been announced anywhere if there are plans to create the maps for 5e adventures for use in Project Sigil? If not, do we think community sharing will get us to that point?
I haven't seen it announced but this is a big hope for me. The published adventures being set up for the new VTT would be a huge selling feature for both. Seems a very logical thing to do for new adventure arcs, fingers crossed they go back and do this for the existing products, too.
They have spent a fair amount of time adding all the 5.0 modules to the Maps feature in Beyond this past year. I'm guessing they were adding the same maps to Sigil at the same time. However, it's possible that Maps will be for legacy/3rd party and Sigil will only be for new 5.24 modules.
If sharing is convenient, I expect enthusiasts will crowd source the creation of 5.0 adventure maps pretty quickly. It'll be interesting to see how much and how quickly the quality of these efforts increase upon release. I'm thinking about challenges like the very first goblin cave in the phandelver starter set and recently published expanded adventure. I imagine it would be difficult to model the various changes in cave elevation, rope bridges, etc, in that very first map, but if it's possible I bet we'll find out very quickly based on community efforts. Should be very interesting.
For me it's less about finding maps - those can be imported as JPGs and laid out on their grid - and more about finding adventure-specific monsters or adversaries. I'm running Rise of Tiamat with a group, and I'd love to surprise them this week with a 3D experience, but I have no way of adding the module's dragon cultists to the fight - they're not in the list of monsters (yet). I know it's early days and it'll be a minute before all features come out, but I hope they either add a 'Add Monster From Clipboard' from D&D Beyond feature (like they already have for Characters) or that they give at least Master Tier D&D Beyond DMs the ability to create custom character sheets for the custom minis.

I really need pre-made Sigil maps for Dungeon of the Mad Mage.

There's no real point gettting Sigil with how limited at this point. Roll20 and Foundry might not provide 3D, but they are complete at least.
Same! I am running my group through Dungeon of the Mad Mage in Roll20 and would LOVE to shift to Sigil for the rest of the campaign.
