Well, i really liked Beru from anime and manga "Solo leveling". And I would like to ask for help to recreate it in D&D. I have an idea to use a multiclass of Barbarian and Monk, and take Thri-kreen as a race. Maybe you have better ideas?
You'll struggle to have a character that completely matches Beru's abilities, especially prior to level 20. I would recommend just focusing on Monk and as you suggested choosing Thri-kreen as a race, then I'd just have the characters bloodlust be part of the roleplay rather than requiring the Barbarian dip, theres already a lot of abilities to try to fit into one build without dropping whole levels for the sake of one mostly behavioural aspect.
An Open-Hand Monk putting as much points as possible into DEX, WIS and CON (Followed by STR, and INT/CHA as the lowest), then taking the Poisoner feat with agreement from DM to allow the poison to be applied to unarmed strikes (not a crazy bending of the rules and certainly not OP) would give you: An insectoid character who does good damage with their claws/unarmed attacks, has decent survivability and very good maneuverability, a self-heal option and a means to administer poisons. You could get the size increase and flying abilities from magical items that grant you the Enlarge/Reduce and Fly spells (magical tattoo would allow for closer to the particular concept).
If you wanted the power/ability stealing aspect the closest you could probably get would be a few levels dip into Phantom Rogue but frankly that reduces the core character elements above to poorly replicate one aspect of the character which basically will never be fully replicable in D&D because it doesn't work in the mechanics of the game.
