Hello, I am a GM creating my first digital campaign. I'm not the most tech savy and am confused on the functions of the campaign creator. Will all the lore I write for it be shared with the players? Or will the lore be kept only for GM eyes, so I can revel the lore slowly throughout the campaign? Genuinely asking since I'm new to this digital format of DND.
Congratulations on creating your first digital campaign, I'm sure that is a lot of work.
When you say you are "confused on the functions of the campaign creator", what are you referring to? D&D Beyond does not have a digital Campaign Creator that I know of.
Let us know what you are referring to and we will try to help.
Cheers :)

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.

Technically it has one. It's not much though, as it has only one specific function. Allows the DM/GM or a player to share books to the other players in the Campaign. It also allows the DM/GM to view the Character Sheets, and to add characters to the Encounter Builder, it is suppose to also link to Sigil, but who knows if they got that to work.
It also has a field that allows the GM to make notes. The notes GM only are not visible to the Players. I wouldn't recommend using the Campaign tool for keeping notes, as it doesn't have a lot of room, and no way to make an organized list, or map out notes as you need them.
I personally use Notepad and MS Word to keep my DM notes organized, I also use Roll20 for VTT purposes, but Talespire and Foundry are excellent, sadly Sigil would have been great if they finished it, and actually supported it. As it is Sigil is a Hot mess and Unfinished.
And according to YouTubers "World Anvil" is the Best place to keep Notes and maps and track your campaign. I didn't like it as it needs some level of Scripting proficiency. And while I was a Programmer in the 80s, 90s, and a System Admin in the Late 90s, I kind of get PTSD when thinking about scripting these days. (Python and Unix Servers will do that)
I'm asking about the description box of the Create a Campaign feature on here. It is very bland and doesn't give a how to use guide. I just want to know if what is written in the description box will be shared with players or is only for the GM.
DM Notes (Private) are for the DMs eyes only. DM Notes (Public) everyone in the Campaign can see them. The field however is highly limited, and I can not fathom any use for either.

The Description field is visible to everyone in the campaign.
As gothicshark pointed out, there is a place to put notes that players can't see. However, D&D Beyond doesn't really have any full-featured campaign tracking tools.

Actually the Dm Notes public is where you can dump general lire for everyone to see, and it supports markdown text formatting.
The only thing you can’t put into the space is any links to outside references like links to another site, or inappropriate content, but it’s actually pretty flexible for displaying relevant information.
If you want to limit lore based on discovery, you can copy paste information from the hidden DM notes to the public notes when needed.
Beyond that, and your better off using a more detailed and specific platform to accomplish more.

Thanks for the clarification form all of y'all. I will be using the suggestions mentioned as I build my campaign.
