It could be that the physical book itself does not include the maps, only the pdf. If the devs operate with only the physical book or a data set (not the pdf) from the publisher, not having the pdf would not give them access to the maps. They should say so though.
Yeah I suppose that could be a possibility. I guess from a design standpoint, I don't know why the map isn't inherently in the book as is but that's not a D&D Beyond issue. It's like trying to run tomb of annihilation but they didn't include a map of Chult. It's possible, but having the map of the island is so integral

The map, while nice to have as an accessory, is not necessary to run the adventure. All travel between the individual regions is handled in text.
