Finally going through the book in detail, going to post questions and thoughts.
First off - in the Dalelands section, under Deeping Dale writeup, we have Sessrenglade, the ruined capital town of Sessrendale which was destroyed by Archendale. One interesting feature of the description is that it attributes no one being able to tackle the resident red dragon to adventurers having to deal with the area being haunted by Revenants and getting through them first.
Okay, but if these are Revenants, aren't they specifically motivated by vengeance against their killers, presumably the army of Archendale? Why are they hanging out in Sessrenglade as opposed to constantly marching on Archenbridge or Swordpoint, and maybe just showing up back in Sessrenglade when they get chopped to pieces and have to reconstitute?
Chapter 8 Magic Items - the Calimemnon Crystal. The thing does 2d6 Cold damage a turn within 20 ft, no saving throw, unless you're attuned to it or someone attuned to it turns this feature off.
Attunement requires a hour, or 100 turns, in direct contact.
Does this mean it's impossible to attune to this thing unless you either have Immunity to Cold damage or have an obscene number of HP? Or does this feature not kick in until a character attunes to the thing?
