Hello everyone.
In a few weeks I start a D&D campaign and it's the first time I'm going to play 5 edition.
I have some doubts about my character, I have fallen in love with the blood hunter class, I need advice on the build that you recommend.
I like the idea of combat style, duelist and lycan orden.
races? stats? weapons? etc thank you very much in advance
Duelist style typically means longsword or other d8 one handed or versatile weapon, usually with a shield even though that's not really how it was intended, sometimes using the free hand for grappling instead. For stats you'll want to go either dex based with light armor (possibly medium until you get your dex higher) or moderate dex with medium armor and focusing on using strength for your attacks. If you want to take advantage of the lycan's bonus on strength checks, you'll want to go strength focus with the free hand for grappling. For race, anything that gives bonuses to either dex or str depending on your chosen style would be good.
The level 8 lycan at my table is a minotaur. He has chosen the dueling fighting style and gets two attacks with the attack action starting at level 5. He uses a longsword in one hand for the +2 damage from dueling and then takes his second attack with his empty claw (which is usually also on fire), which allows him to make another attack with his empty claw using his bonus action due to the predatory strike feature. It's good synergy.

I would need to check a lot of rules and can't be bothered, but I dont think that works.

Works fine, as long as you aren't trying to take the bonus from dueling and apply it to the unarmed strikes.

Nm. I was reading it wrong. I thought he was making a weapon attack action, then an unarmed strike as a bonus action from two-weapon fighting.
We're on the same page. Two weapon fighting specifically will not work in this situation. It's the Blood Hunter predatory strike feature that makes it work in a similar fashion.
Thank you for your answers, I still have many doubts ... What you want to say is: At level 5 does the Lycan blood hunter have 3 attacks? How would they be resolved? Race issue, I would like some humanoid aesthetics by lore.

WIS and CON are also important stats for blood hunters so you may want a race that also boosts one of those.
