It would be very, very nice if DDB would make a homebrewed copy of the original versions of WGtE races and make them sharable. They have all the original material since existing characters created with those races still funtion.
As someone else said, and I have brought up befire in other forums, WotC introduced variant forms of others races, like the Aasimar & Eldarin, and kept both. They should have kept the WotC and the new book the same way.
I won't be upgrading the WGtE in my iPad app when they update it. I won't use the new version in my campaigns.
Also, in my copy of tyhe pdf peurchased on DM's Guild, there is no mention of it being a Live Document. This was added after my purchase.
Unfortunately that would be a violation of copyright and their licencing agreement with WotC.
The Variant Aasimar and Eladrin were printed in a physical book as final products. The old Eberron races were always playtest and had the possibility of changing.
If they were always playtest, then we should NEVER have had to pay for it. Or, as someone has already said, the price of the WGtE should have been deducted from the new book. It wwas all a scam on the part of WotC after DM's Guild put out WGtE . . .. Paying for something means it is NOT playtest material. Especially if WotC knows, 100% it will be charging a 2nd time for the EXACT same racial materials that we paid for in WGtE, Either way is shows criminal intent, if not actually criminal activity on behalf of WotC . .

It is not criminal. It is a bit... (what is a polite way to say slimy? I got nothing) but I don't think that was even intentional. They were testing out a new way to distribute content (in a way that made them more money), and it did not go well.
DDB is giving refunds for WGtE for anyone who is not satisfied with it. And WotC will likely never try that living document BS again. And that is that.
All of the old content is still scrapped playtest material and DDB is powerless to bring it back.
