To give you guys a bit of background I have been playing Shadowrun weekly on Roll 20 for a year now and have been asked to run curse of strahd.
Now I have a small investment in Beyond with the core books and was thinking of purchasing the strahd module even though I own the physical books. Can I export the maps to roll 20? Or can they be directly shared with players through beyond? and then I just use roll 20 as a virtual dice roller?
I'm a Maptools guy, but from what I understand both programs are very similar and strong! I have all the books and the Mines of Phandelvar adventures. Just save images from Sthrahd throw the vision block on them and the FOW and your good to go. Super easy and fun.

You can download the high res maps from the modules on D&D Beyond and load them into Roll20 just as you would any other map. I do this with my game at the moment, I'm running my newbie players through the Tyranny of Dragons books.
The way I do it is to use Roll20 as the virtual tabletop & dice roller and simply use DnD Beyond as an easy way for people to have character sheets I can see copies of & that they can level up, etc with ease. It's also nice to have tabs open at various points in the modules for quick & easy reference.

This seems like a good plan for now. I know i could just buy the module on roll 20 but id rather keep my support going here at least until beyond releases its own VTT.
Same here, I want my purchases to be in one place & I've chosen here mainly due to the character builder being so robust & easy to use. I'm running for new players so it's a really important feature for me. I figure that I get the maps anyway here so I can still use any other VTT I like.
The thing I'm REALLY looking forward to is to be able to import character sheets to Roll20 (Roll20 implied that this is something they want to happen).
I've heard that the Maps of Castle Ravenloft on Roll20 are actually superior just because they are not in the weird isometric view and more of the traditional top down.
Just something to consider.

Or maybe you have a better way of doing it.
Hey Adam,
