So my playgroup is playing on saturday, and I have made roughly 28 different characters that are are useless now that everyone else shared their characters because they all picked things that were the roles i was going for, and for some reason they aren't trying to cooperate with role assignments (RP goals, and in game mechanics that each character would prefer) and it doesnt help that 1 guy isn't in the discord yet, and anther isn't really discussing much about his character goals.
Enough of my little rant though.
I want/need character concepts for some fun and potent damage dealers (Ranged and Melee) as well as your most entertaining to play frontliners. We have a shepherd druid, build around support. (nature boy golliath) and a fallen aasimar bard (the bardiest bard, apparently) and the third character may or may not be a minotaur barbarian (Possibly tavern brawler, thrower style character). Originally I had a rogue/bard hybrid i was going to play but i dont want to step on the bards toes.
Youngest son of a large noble family with vast wealth. Sent off to some kind of prestigious, expensive, military academy - he has too many older siblings to hope for a nice position in the family empire, so his career options were the clergy (old zealots droning on about piety, ugh), politics (old fogeys droning on about taxes and the price of salted pork, as if) or the military (wealth will buy a nice post as junior officer upon graduation, the ladies like a man in uniform, opportunity for travel and glory; this gig might not altogether suck). Spends his lavish allowance like water, looks down on the scholarship kids, womanizes and boozes at every opportunity, cronies toadying for favour in his wake. Then the money stops coming. Letters sent home, no replies, definitely no money. Urgent demands from the academy's bursar for tuition fees, landlord getting uppity about rent, favourite bars freezing his tab. Still no money. Makes assurances everything will be sorted out soon and travels home. Turns out his dad found out he is not the father. Awkward. Older brothers seized the opportunity to oust him from the family. Dad threatens to set the guards on him if he shows his face around any of the family estates. Childhood "friends" apparently find a lot of amusement in the scandal and turn their backs on him. Mom sends a servant with a pouch of money and some jewelry and urges him to leave quietly and try to contact her later, maybe she'll be able to smooth things over. Servant keeps the money and jewelry and tells him if he's still in town the next day, the local bailiff will come for him with a litany of accusations and it'll be the salt mines for a couple of decades. If he survives that long, anyway. Time to skip out in the middle of the night to avoid paying what he still owes the innkeep, put a lot of distance between him and this sordid mess, and find a way to make some money.
Suggestion: human; far traveller or outlander; fighter built towards battle master/samurai or eldritch knight/rune knight/psi warrior if you want a bit of magic. Something like faction agent could work too if you add an extra paragraph to the background about finding employ somewhere.
That's actually a really awesome idea for a character. I might use it, juggling different caster/ranged builds right now but i might use this idea i like it.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
