(UK) 2 year old group looking for new faces

I'm James. 29 and from the UK. A lot of experience as both a player and a DM, but I'm looking to join a game since I've been almost exclusively DMing for almost 2 years now and I just really want to play in an immersive game where I can truly get into a character.

Playing RPGs for over 3 years, for D&D I tried two campaigns but left after some time (few months) due to GM just telling their story instead of letting us play + leading the game not with the rules but without mentioning it beforehand and the other due to a player changing the half of the party into murderhobos which my (good) character wouldn't stand and Gm playing favourites with her. And both games getting scheduling problems and a lot of last moment cancellations.

Would like to play a spellcaster, but it's not necessary and depends on other players and setting. I don't like coming to the table with ready characters as I don't know the world.

Hello! This might sound a bit strange, but my mother and I would really be interested in joining your campaign! I am 22, and she is 52. We both live on the east coast of the US, so Saturday afternoons, or 7PM GMT, would be perfect for us. I have about 3 years of experience as a player with a small group of friends at college, and am currently working on my first campaign as a DM, but my mother would be a completely new player. (I can vouch for her being chill, though, as she's very young at heart!) I want to introduce her to the game because she has always wanted to play since the 1980's, but has never had a group willing to play with her.
