I am a DnD player and I am trying to develop a magic Knight class. But I only have the experience of playing the game with my friends so I would like to find a group of people to help me play and develop this Class
What characteristics about this are different than an Eldritch knight, a paladin variant, or a melee hexblade? I like to theory craft but there are rules in place for hybrid classes. I never want to discourage new creations. I would like to help based on what I know from the books.

Current campaigns - DM - Tomb of Annihilation home game
theory crafter and character builder.
Past campaigns -DM- modern post-apocalypse custom home game.
- Human Paladin, Brazelton - multiple games
- lv 12 Human Ranger, Mattias Shaw - 3.5e Homebrew
This is a variation from a paladin but with no heals and the base for the character is a search for truth. In wich i have developed some spells as well to go along with the character
Take a look at the Fighter class, Eldritch Knight from the PHb. You benefit from the bones of the fighter class and you get wizard spells. Wizards have a HUGE array of spells and you can tailor them to your flavor. Official, balanced, rules already in place. The PHb states it gets its spells from abjuration and evocation, but with DM discretion, open things up to other magic classes like necromancy or transmutation. Now, I'm not sure how a character creator app would treat these rules, but if you are just pulling from scratch anyway, this might be a good template.
Now if you wanna flip that, and lead with your spells and work into a melee class, (which I've noticed is more difficult, but offers the access to 6-9th level spells,) research bard, college of swords or take feats instead of attributes with your wizard or sorc that would benefit that type of play. gaining armor proficiencies, toughness, extra attacks, weapon master etc.
