a priest, And hero sitting around a campfire, And the priest says,"I had a dog and he wouldn't quit yapping so I had to put him down. And the hero says," I would never treat a pet of mine like that". And then the priest says I might have to put you down. And scenery changes to a big fortress somewhere in bizaro everquest.
{ooc welcome to bizaro everquest world how will you adjust from being taken from the world of everquest that was real and taken to a remake made by the villain known as the priest
Feel free to make a character with the standard array from the basic rules or any of the other ones and ground them in this setting ill let you know if it is acceptable.
Theres two different ways to play one is moving through the mantle and facing monsters in each room or doing quests. (over 150 rooms to explore) the other is to disable the mantle and use the map for a basis for the traditional encounter style play that people are used to here in the pbp forum. And the dm can throw whatever monsters from the surroundings at the group that are encountered when the mantle is disabled or call it being "trained" by the dm if you will. when a group of people decides to on a quest and they want. So with the encounter this way people can play a modular type adventure.
And then if they want after that they can continue in a free roam game to use homebrew to enhance their characters by enabling the mantle to change to a more traditional style play eqrpg focused game where people are safe from roaming monsters but they can fight individual mobs in area's where the mobs are supposed to be they can do that too.
To start out I might make A traditional dnd encounter dungeon where pc's start in a room with 4 starting spots and each one is represents a starting city they were taken from and they need to pick the two pc's who are good and neutral in the starting area to succeed in escaping the dungeon if they allied with a pc from a evil starting city and they were good then that would cause them to be "trained" by any monsters from the dungeon at the gm's whim.
