How long have you played 5e?
I have been watching 5e for several years now, but I have never had the opportunity to play before.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I wanted to have a campaign where my character can grow and learn. In terms of percentages my ideal would be (40% combat/60% RP and exploration)
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
As stated in Durandals_Fate post I have a few ideas. I am not dead set on one character in particular, but perhaps I could help round out any gaps within the existing party.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
The human fighter would be a young man coming of age, seeking to make a name for himself. With his inexperience and naivety he might jump into situations without fully considering the consequences. His journey would be to grow and learn caution along with self control, and that he is not as invincible as most young people believe they are.
The human life cleric would be an older man who had lost the quick step and reactions of his youth of a life of crime. Having experienced and committed several evil acts, he found redemption when he was rescued from the edge of death by a cleric after losing his last fight. Being granted an extension on life, he vowed to try to heal the damage he had caused and became a Life cleric. His journey would be one of redemption and temptation, as it would be a constant struggle to resist falling back into evil habits built up over a lifetime. His past deeds could also cause the party trouble if he was recognized by those he had previously wronged.
A dragonborn sorcerer who's life goal is to transform and permanently become a dragon. His journey would be started on a path of arrogance, as he believed in a grand destiny for himself. But perhaps what he needs to learn is humility and acceptance, as what he thinks he deserves could be very different from what he really needs.
And a way of mercy monk who I have not crafted a full backstory to yet, but I like the idea of playing a supporting character who can offer utility and some limited healing to the party.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Yes, Sunday would be great for me. I am also free Wed and Saturday, but live on the west coast so I would only be available after work at 5pm PST on Wed.
I hope this response doesn't come to late, and that I hear back from you soon. Thank you!
I have been playing for about 5 months, im not really that experienced but iam starting to get the hang of things.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Alright so, the party is in this giant cave full of tombs for dead royalty (this after obviously robbing a dead king) and the dm describes a roaring sound going thru the cave as me and the other player who was there were scared shitless. Turns out it was a curse and i didnt hear any of it in game but in the moment it was really cool.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
right so im not great at math but i think these are what i mean them to be, long drawn out combat is honestly not my style while roleplaying and exploration are more apealing to me, so about (in the order listed.) 25% 40% 35%.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Iam planning on playing a Gnome Bard.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
Lillith the Rock gnome coming from a long line of scientist engineers and doctors Lillith is more intrested in music much to her family's dismay. due to the dissaproval of her back home Lillith goes out into the world to get away, picking up odd jobs to support herself. She happens upon a listing for a research crew to investigate some clouds close to Berceau she takes the offer being generally investigative at heart.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Iam free on sundays but due to timezone issues it might get very late. but other days iam availible are wensdays thru saturdays.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I'd like a pretty balanced campaign, 33%/33%/33%
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Wood elf blood hunter
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
(Name TBD) growing up he always had an inquisitive mind and an uncanny knack for discovering secrets. Now, many would have abused those skills for personal gain but (TBD)'s parents raised him to treat others fairly. So upon reaching adulthood, rather than descend to the life of a common criminal, he found himself taking on the role of a detective.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Just a couple of months back I started my first campaign, but I learned pretty quickly if I do say so myself. I had began my research into TTRPGs (consisting of YouTube guides on character creation/mechanics/etc., D&D Beyond, examining in-game mechanics of campaigns like Critical Role's amongst others, websites, etc.) long before that and had tried to get into campaigns but never could until then.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
2 sessions ago of this very campaign I'm currently playing on Thursdays, my peacock-aspect Aarakocra, Drag Queen, Cleric of the Celebration Domain got knocked out cold by the laser of a 10ft tall crystal creature. After getting healed up but our druid, however, she/they realized her ribbons, outfit and even some of her precious feathers had been scorched to ashes. Needless to say, she was livid. Soaring through the space between her and this monster, she CRIT her 2nd level Inflict Wounds dealing 44 necrotic dmg to it and completely disintegrating it and its crystals for daring to mess up her appearance. She is lvl 3.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I want all of it. I've been waiting too long to join any campaigns and I have too much creativity bottled up because of it, but I would really appreciate an encounter per session. I find myself looking forward to the thrill and adrenaline of fighting alongside my group against a common foe, all of us being able to show off each of our amazing characters in every aspect this game ha stop offer.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Like I mentioned, my creativity is through the roof right now, I will most likely have something not only to fill any mechanical roles, but also any RP complementary ones that could play along with any other group characters to establish an interesting dynamic throughout the campaign.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
I guess I could give some ideas I've been dying to share hehe:
- A druid and/or sorcerer gnome whose aspect and overall personal perfectly portrays that of an actual garden gnome merged with Snowhite's (very very fun)
- A firm and lawful aasimar (or variant aasimar) with an oath of devotion who strives to be the shield of her allies and an unyielding leader. (Absolutely here to serve the strong female warrior, actually planning on giving her a military background)
- a drakewarden ranger, dragon elf who is accompanied by their faithful pseudodragon companion (really just wanted to serve the "Dragon" in Dungeons & Dragons without being a Dragonborn)
- A dreamy Astral elf of the Divination Wizard school who can provide a lot of utility, but also be an ace in melee battle. (Really loving this one) - A young, human variant (just to name a race, cuz I'm still figuring that out) Fey-raised wizard embodying the aspect and aesthetic of a stereotypical young witch (Another fun choice)
- I find the idea of a rogue interesting as well but haven't have gotten into it because my character slots on beyond are full :((
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
It would, yes. I was hoping at around 2pm CST actually or 5pm/6pm. I would be able to also do Saturdays but at around 8, but Saturdays are iffy. Probs Fridays too at anytime starting from 4:30pm onward.
