==Looking to play a little D&D but don't always have the time to commit to a long campaign? Or have you always wanted to start playing D&D, but never quite knew where to start? This homebrew Mini-Campaign might just be perfect for you! Go forth and explore what adventures await you!==
The Gleaming Sands desert sprawls for weeks in all directions, hauntingly beautiful and deadly in equal measure. However for those who know where to go, there exists a mysterious safe haven. A city nestled deep in the desert, at the base of a solitary mountain, known as The Lone Watcher. A city that could not exist if not for the sparkling green oases that lie protected from raging sandstorms that plague the area.
For 500 years the Gem in the Desert has grown larger and more prosperous despite the harsh climate. Yet only the very brave, foolish or desperate every attempt the journey to reach the city. Grown out of the myriad of nomadic tribal groups that chose to settle at the oases, a diverse community thrives in Jawahr. But just as it attracts wanderers, traders and scholars it also attracts the attention of insidious forces who want to keep the prosperity of the miracle city for themselves.
Until now the towering stone walls, democratically elected council and strong leadership have kept the city afloat and safe from invasions. But how long that peace will last, no one can ever truly know.
You, wanderer have joined one such caravan, traveling with an experienced guide who brings travelers safely through the perilous journey to Jawahr City. Why have you come here, what do you seek to find this deep in the desert? Or is there something you run from? What encounters and experiences await you in this peculiar city? There’s only one way to find out…
I hope to take you on an engaging journey and tell a wonderful collaborative story with your party. I'll try my very best to impart the basics of both FoundryVTT & D&D 5E if they are new to you. This Mini-Campaign is open to Players of all backgrounds, regardless of level of experience.
I try to keep combat upbeat, minimise delays and obviously can't forget to include appropriate background music. Rules are a guide to help tell the story, I am not very particular about following them to the word, they are open to interpretation and negotiation at the table.
Adventure Details; Journey Into Jawahr City
-Goes from Level 1 to 4 in around 4 -6 sessions,held once a week, the overall duration of the mini-campaign may vary depending on how the party decides to play. Session 0 is free, to meet the party members, and I will guide you all through the basic rules at my table and help you with your character creation on DnDBeyond if needed.
-Session 2 is scheduled for 10th July , GMT 18:00.
-Overall theme of Urban Adventure/Exploration in a thriving city and the harsh desert that surrounds it.
-I tend not to be restrictive with character creation rules, and instead like to try to collaborate with my players to create a setting-realistic but fun to play character.
-Price; $5.00 USD per session, via the StartPlayingGames website.
(I charge for my games because it takes a lot of time and also money to make immersive VTT experiences and creative stories, so the funds go towards keeping the games running at the highest quality I can provide. Charging for games also helps to ensure a level of accountablility to avoid too many players being frequently missing at the table. In case of unforseen events, the player can let me know before the Session so I can prepare accordingly and you will not be charged for a missed session.)
Requirements;
- 18+ Players for this Mini-Adventure only
-A mic; so the party can speak via Discord voice chat, as long as we can understand each other it works :D and a functional laptop/PC with an internet connection.
-A free D&DBeyond account for character creation
-A free account on Start Playing Games for ease of payments for sessions.
About Me;
Hey there nice to meet ya, I'm Manish, just a nerd who found herself with too much free time and fell headfirst into the wonderful world of Critical Role. My first time playing D&D was through a Start Playing Games DM, and it was an absolute delight! I've been a player in multiple games for a year now and finally decided to try my hand at DMing for myself. I am most familiar with FoundryVTT and D&D 5e. I aspire to tell rich stories, and let all my players feel included and immersed at my table. I love engaging storytelling and fun roleplay moments. I do my best to give characters unique voices and balance realistic combat with the Rule of Cool.
My table will always be an inclusive one and no hate or discrimination will be tolerated. We try to keep the vibes friendly and supportive here
I'm always open to your questions and suggestions, so feel free to PM me on DNDBeyond or contact me on discord at fox_ish#1947.
One player had to leave for personal reasons, so one slot is now open. It is still early enough in the campaign to join the group of 4 current players if you wish to learn to play!
