Game:D&D 5e Lost Mine of Phandalin Group preferred:Online: Discord Voice Chat/ DnD Beyond Character Sheets/ Above VTT for battle maps Experience: My second time as DM Location/Timezone: Mountain (Arizona) Availability: 8pm EST, 5pm PST Friday (Some leeway here) 3-4 hours weekly (or longer if the group wants) This game will last maybe 3-4 months or longer depending. May lead to longer campaign. Preferred role: 3 18+ mature players who want to learn roleplay and one more experienced player to help and serve as an example. Don't worry about whether or not you know the rules. You will learn as you go. The idea is that you say what you think your character will do or how they will react, and then I as DM will help you accomplish that. If there is a possibility you will fail at what you are attempting, I will ask you to roll dice to see if you are successful.
Game style:Looking to get as close to full immersion as possible. The idea is to escape into a fantasy world and become someone else for a while. If you are a shy person you might choose a character who is fearless. If you live in a city, you might choose a character that loves outdoor life. This is a beginners campaign and has linear progression of events to follow, however, you as players/characters will “write” the story through your choices. Figure that the players will create 75% of the story and I will create 25% in an attempt to make it all make sense. That doesn't mean there won't be combat. I mean, were here to have an adventure right? Also, I am not Matt Mercer and you don't have to be Liam O'Brian or Laura Bailey. I am not a voice actor and I don't expect you to be.
How to respond: Send me a DM with the following: (Ask questions if you need to.)
--Why do you want to play D&D?
--Can you commit to playing every week for 3-4 months? (I know stuff happens.)
--What is attractive to you about role playing? What experience do you have with role playing outside of D&D. Do you write? Role play with friends online? Do you have acting experience? Do you follow any on-line D&D campaigns? (Critical Role, Dimension 20, etc.)
--Are looking to join by yourself or with a friend?
--What kind of character to you want to play? You don't need to have a character ready, but tell me what you do know about what you see yourself doing. Do you want to smash things or blow stuff up with fireballs? Do you want to support your party as a healer, or do you want to sneak around as a rogue, or commune with wildlife as a ranger. If you are totally lost, just do what you can.
--What is your preferred pronoun?
--What is your time zone? Do you have time restrictions?
--Include your Discord user name so I can friend you. Also include the best time to contact you to set up an appointment.
--Come back to this post and make a creative, fun post to let me know you have responded.
Timeline:
1) Respond to this post.
2) Meet one-on-one with me in Discord voice chat. This is for us to determine whether or not we get along in terms of expectations and play style. Believe me, finding the right DM is as important to you as finding the right players is to me.
3) I decide on who the players will be. I'll let you know one way or another.
4) We meet and work one-on-one together on characters/backstory/character arcs, etc. Keep in mind that certain characters are more more difficult to play. Playing a shy character may may cause the game to slow down. Your character, at least on some level, should want be on the adventure. Likewise, playing an evil character might be difficult for beginners. And playing in character is not an excuse for being an @$$hole, whether that be bullying, unwanted advances, or anything else that makes the other players uncomfortable. Also we will discuss personal preferences as to what you find acceptable in terms of language, character romance, or anything else you may or may not find offensive.
5) Session Zero: We meet together as a group and hash out character relationships, how you as group ended up together on this quest, and technical issues, anything else we need to hash out. We will see how we can work together as a team. Time permitting, we will play a short one-shot.
6) We start the campaign.

I Have responded with a DM to this post. I can enable content sharing to allow the party access to all the sourcebooks in the bundle. Looking forward to an adventure with you all. Ain’t no party like a DnD party
If everyone on Earth jumped at the same time, nothing would happen. The mass of all humans is minuscule in comparison to the mass of the Earth, so their combined jump would have no effect on the planet's movement

If you have never watched D&D being played, you might want to find a game on Youtube or Twitch to get the idea of what is going to happen.
