So i feel like i have to ask (perhaps best done via a DM). You say a this would not be a "rule of cool" campaign, what does that mean to you?
Like are we talking characters doing things that break the game, "But it would be so super cool if i (insert Anime/ Matrix level BS) as a level 2 (class)"? Or are we talking "roll dice... deal damage... enemy has died... (game is just a slower, flesh based version of playing a CRPG.) or in other words "You are not allowed to think outside of the box"

I just mean I want to play by the actual rules and give players a challenge as opposed to just waiving my hand and letting you fly around and shoot lasers out of your eyes cause it sounds cool... so the former. I would let any player do anything that makes sense logically. You can use the Improvise action to your hearts content for example. It is just my job to determine how your outside the box thinking needs to be ruled and is applied mechanically. So yeah I love it when players do stuff to surprise me! I only follow the rules in the book as guidelines so more or less the rules will be in effect but I very well might rule something different based on circumstances which I would explain to the party. My goal is for the story to be immersive so I have players consider different things like their inventory loadout and encumbrance... most players would find this tedious. I think it adds to the game by making players plan and strategize with their character more. Call it realism if you want but essentially if there is a rule in the book or the dmg, i am likely enforcing it or a variation of it. I include survival aspects, like cold weather etc, lingering injuries, system shock table, sleeping rules from XGtE... and on and on... the full D&D experience ;)
Hi I'm not sure if you still need one person but that time suits me as it'll be 9am Monday for me and that's generally a day I have nothing on so i'd be free. I've played DnD for two years but am still finding my feet with most aspects as the sessions were on occasion few and far between, with curse of Strahd being the one I've had most experience with (two separate campaigns).

Should be fine as long as the time is good for you and you are fluent in english. 21+ ... just make sure this is the type of campaign you want to play and that everything in the OP works for you and you can commit to being a positive minded player.
Send me your character and any backstory ideas on discord when ready: Cheyros#0781
Yep English is my first language and I'm well past 21. I'm more than happy to give the campaign a try. I'll send you a friend request on discord so I can just ask a few questions before I go to bed.
