I've posted for this campaign before, but was pulled away for work (Military). Thought I'd post it one more time to see if anyone suitable pops up to fill my last slot, lost a player who had to step away to handle raising their first born :). I'll provide a summary of myself and the campaign below! Anyone who "applies" is welcome to join and stay in my little DnD Discord community, regardless of whether you fill the player slot, slowly making our way to 100 :D. -------- Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: I've been into and running DnD for a bit over 2yrs now, and have well over 150 sessions hosted under my belt. Newer players are welcome as long as you understand enough I won't have to hold your hand the entire time :P Location/Timezone: Currently stationed in Oklahoma, I work off the CST timezone; we have players across the Globe, though most are US residents. Schedule: Campaign is played every Saturday at 530pm CST. On sparse occasions I attempt to host an extra session if everyone's schedule permits. Roles sought: Current group is myself as the DM, and 5 players. Looking for a sixth to round us out! (Aka I'm only accepting one person) Game style: Thematically the game is comparable to that seen in darker sci-fi fantasy type games, but is pretty well filled with light hearted moments/themes to balance things out. Lots of investigative work, critical thinking usage, and intense combat that requires you to think out your moves if you want to succeed!
About Me: I'm 21yrs old, and started playing DnD as a way to fill in my time when the boredom of Active Duty Army life started really driving me crazy; you'd be surprised how much of our time is free and just sitting around. I played in a very short lived campaign that fell apart due to the DM's lack of motivation/interest, he pretty much used a player decision as an excuse to "erase the universe" with a homebrew deck of many things xD. It was the kind of thing that would push new people away from DnD, but for me it left me hungry to find something better, I was confident that couldn't be the limits of what the game had to offer. I joined a DnD discord called DreamRealm and started playing in one shots regularly, and still felt like an itch I had wasn't being satisfied; so I tried my hand at DM'ing. Things spiraled like crazy from there, I was hosting 2-4 sessions a week for a long time, and had constant messages like never before asking when my next sessions were and if spots could be saved. Eventually, I was convinced to take that step to making a full duration campaign. Things have been nothing but positive growth since then :)
The Campaign: The story is set in 1963, following a timeline of Earth similar to what you may see in a setting like Hellboy or SCP. Humanity as a majority is quite unaware of the fantasy and magic that lay just behind a veil; and maintaining that obscurity is the duty of the First Foundation, more often dubbed "The Foundation". At the start of the story, the group was an array of odd individuals, mostly humans that had never been exposed to the supernatural. Due to harboring unique factors (mechanically taking root as custom subclasses I make for the players) they were taken in by The Foundation, and at first treated like test subjects to gauge the potential threat they may pose to functioning society. Eventually, after a string of events that led to the release of many high profile prisoners of the Foundation's main facility known as "The Cage", they were eventually enlisted as new members of the field teams employed by the organization; since then being known as Field Team Echo (Also the campaign name!). Since then, they've dealt with all manner of threats all in the mission of progressing to further their experience; all so that they can move to aid the operation focused on reclaiming the escaped prisoners. Some such threats include a nest of vampiric monsters gathering like parasites in hidden catacombs underneath the city of Chicago, uncovering a cult worshipping an insect-like creature spawned to fight in a war long forgotten in the northern forests of Maine, and their current mission; reclaiming a magical stone responsible for keeping the United Kingdom afloat. With a lot of humor to balance out the otherwise grim, scary, and emotional nature of the campaign, the group is certainly an entertaining one.
