Hey! We just lost a player in our game that's been going on for a little while. It's a gladiatorial tournament where teams compete with each other to be able to fight the final match; Tyrals representative team vs Silversparks. I created a homebrew subcontinent in the Forgotten Realms where wars are fought with adventuring parties. Tyral, your home nation, is mostly human and does a lot of trading, especially with Waterdeep. Silverspark, mostly dwarves, is a mining civilization. They're currently at war after a diplomatic marriage went... sideways, or more specifically the Tyral princess vanished, so that's... not fun, also known as a huge diplomatic incident. So war is brewing, as is dwarf racism. Speaking of, Tyral is not very friendly to dwarves or "evil races", like tieflings, goblins, orcs. Some cities are worse than others. So if you don't want your character discriminated against, consider playing a human or elf or something. Honestly, it's so hard to keep track of all the abnormal races, I (the DM) mostly ignore tortles and genasi and such.

Also, there is an expectation of cleanliness. No swearing or inapropriate comments or behaviors. There is quite an age range, from high schoolers to adults. Please don't apply if you're 13 or under, I don't want to be responsible for your safety. We meet on google meets at 5 pm EST every tuesday and use D&D beyond for character sheets and such.

We're looking for one spellcaster, comment below if you're interested. You'll be replacing a wizard, I would recommend a wizard, druid, or sorcerer. You can have a pet but it isn't allowed in the arena unless it's summoned, like a familiar. If your character is best friends with a squirrel though, more power to you. Mine was best friends with a giant badger. In the next campaign she'll have an owl as the only being she trusts.

Also, we tend to get political. Cats v dogs is a serious question, with an obvious answer. Cats are superior in every way to both dogs and people and I will one day convince the wizard. Please join me in my crusade because cats are just obviously better. (We don't actually get political... except on cats v dogs, where it counts.)

Hey, I saw you respond to my message looking for a group and I'd be interested in playing with you. I have a human draconic sorcerer character that would probably be a good replacement spellcaster. I also have a wizard character if that's what you'd prefer but he's a drow, so the sunlight sensitivity would be a little bit difficult to deal with unless it's homebrewed out. I could also probably just make a new wizard. I'm available when you guys play, so I guess message me here if you're still interested.

Great! Either character works, though like I said the drow would face some racism. You might be able to wear a really big hat or something though, or maybe have some sort of feat to either not have the sensitivity or be able to brew potions to manage it (I think potion brewing is cooler than just not having it, but the former would be simpler). 

Do you want to meet some time to discuss your character? They'll have 2 magic weapons (one chosen by you, one by me) and if they grew up in Tyral a plus 1 to charisma (trading nation) or if they grew up in Silverspark proficiency with blacksmiths tools. Your backstory might need minor adjustments to fit into the subcontinent. Or you could just show up with the character and figure it out from there.
