With Val I really explored the concept of my character to the very end, both with the "build your own class" system and with the help of the DM that constantly followed through on the ideas that have been put out, no matter how peculiar they might be. Coherent and well curated sessions, vetted groups (god knows how hard it is to find a group of sensible people to play sometimes), amazing maps and stories, and commitment. I gave it a shot at him at random almost 3 years ago, and the campaign is still running, best choice I ever made!
