~ ABOUT DUNGEON MASTER CHEF ~
Who is Dungeon Master Chef?
Chef is a professionally trained chef. He spent many years chasing Michelin stars and perfection in the culinary world. He got really far during his journey as a chef. Like all good things, it came to an end around the time of covid. This made it hard for chef to find work as all he knew back then was how to cook professionally for money. His ventures into dungeons & dragons began when he finally had more free time to come back go Magic: The Gathering, and heard of people actually playing online due to covid. So, chef tried it a few times but not being the greatest at technology. He didn't fully stick to the Roll20 VTT, and playing over the internet until about a year ago when he found a West March. Before this he ran a home game, and played in a few card shop games but nothing on the level of a west march. Dungeon Master chef quickly picked up around this server taking on various staff roles including Dungeon Master. He then realized that people really enjoy his games. Another dungeon master suggested trying campaigns on roll20. This lead into chef starting to try the professional dungeon master role. It seems to be working out quiet well for chef even though this is his first official year as a dungeon master for the public. It's different when your at home with your friends, haha. So, chef gave it a shot. It's going well so far, and he strives to make sure every player is felt important in the stories. He will go the extra mile to ask you about backstory information, what your character is after(goals), and he wants the characters to feel accomplished with their goals, not just what the dungeon master or module wants the party to do. Chef believes the best parties are filled with Role-Playing and player backstories coming to life during the campaign. What's your next character's goals?
What platforms do you use?
Currently, we are only running D&D 5e and Roll20 for a (VTT) Virtual Table Top. Personally, I'm a fan cause it's where i learned how to play D&D in an online setting.
To play at my table, you will need: - Roll20 Account - D&D Beyond Character Sheet - (Optional) Bettr20 Extension
- Startplaying Account (for payments, scheduling, etc) - Discord Account * We don't care how you are able to play, but highly recommended to use a PC over phone or tablet and a working mic. It doesnt have to be a fancy one but we need to understand you on your turns.
Do we allow 2024 content?
Yes, Bring your new 2024 characters to my table! Let's see those new build combos all of you are already planning.
Do we allow homebrew content?
This is a tricky topic. We allow SOME homebrew content but we are limiting what we allow. This is because we want to avoid overpowered players coming into the game. This creates an unbalance in the game, un-fair advantages, and other problems arise. We're playing D&D, not a solo campaign. If you want to be the hero and the party is your "pawns" you are coming to wrong table. EVERYONE is a hero at my table and everyone gets a chance to do heroic stuff. Please keep that in mind when coming to me with homebrew questions. I want everyone to have fun!
The Homebrew we are restricting: Races, Classes, Backgrounds. Unless it's on the approved list, we do not allow these sorts of homebrew.
Why should I pay for Dungeons & Dragons?
Well, that's a really good question. Honestly, you could go out and find a free game. They're everywhere on the internet and you could even join a west march campaign. The difference you will get between a paid dungeon master like myself and someone offering a free game is the fact that it's hit or miss every time on the free side. I have had 3/10 luck trying free games. I've never been to a bad paid game. At a paid game, you are getting more for the money you are paying. I can't speak for every table but I personally will cater to your backstory. I will find ways to link it into the story and continue a campaign til we disband a party or hit level 20 and "paragon". I make sure all my players are comfortable and having a great time. I also have spent efforts to create a really cool discord server that not only offers D&D but we also got a small MTG lounge for my MTG players to go hang out in. Spellbot is ready and waiting for your commanders! It's the extra mile though, As a paid dungeon master, I make sure that I'm working hard to give you the experience you deserve with the price you're paying to be at my table. As a Professional Dungeon Master, I'm operating a business. If customers are not happy, then business isn't looking good. Still not sure about paid campaigns? Check out my reviews.
How do I pay?
I use a platform called StartPlaying Games, where you can setup payment. This system is setup so that you will make the payment 1-hour after start time. It takes out all the stress of keeping track of payments and what-not. Things that would slow me down a bit are now more automated with payment platforms like SPG.
Why choose dungeon master Chef?
Chef offers a fun and friendly environment for his players. He uses a mixture of modules and homebrew to create creative worlds for his players to actually achieve backstory goals. I want your backstory to be important in my stories. Another great thing about coming to my table is that I allow my parties to rule vote if the rule is annoying enough to cause an actual problem. Or is just broken cause we all know D&D 5e isn't perfect. But who is you know? I also offer book access through D&D beyond. If you get the extension for roll20 you can actually use your d&d beyond sheet instead of the roll20 ones.
Current books i offer for sharing in campaigns:
- The Player's Handbook
- Lost Mine of Phandelver - Intro to Stormwreck Isle - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything
What about Table Rules & Stuff?
Listen, I'm pretty chill about most of my rules. I run (raw) rules as written, with the exception of stuff like rule of cool. Also, i have this awesome rule for all my paying players. You're paying to be at my table. If it's a rule that everyone is going to dread 24/7 then we have a policy for this. It's called the Vote the Rule policy. I will sit back as a judge and let the party decide. Do we alter the rule, leave it, or eliminate it. I feel like my players should have that right if the rule is annoying enough because even though I run (raw), I know sometimes the rules are.... not good.
How do i get started?
Getting started is going to be pretty easy. You just message me on here or join us on SPG and I'll get you setup. Hopefully we covered everything and it's a smooth entry into my campaigns.
"Do you have what it takes to takes to become a hero? Can you handle adventure, exploration, and a journey through a region full of corruption and evil? Can you handle the challenges that you will face as you attempt to prove yourself? It's a dangerous world out there and many adventurers have already failed at becoming the next hero. Are you going to be the one who finally changes this? Will you be... The next hero of Faerûn?
Welcome Adventurer, to the world of Toril. This world is actually third planet from the sun. The moon named Selûne orbits this planet as we move into the geographical lore. We are going to start our journey in the region of Faerûn. A region full of wilderness, Harsh Winters, Orc Hoards, and barbarian tribes. This region is known as "The North", which also contained most of the "Sword Coast North". It's mostly an untamed region that lays between the large Sword Coast North to the west, and the Anauroch Desert to the east. A very big region for our adventurers to explore. As we dive deeper into the this story, we start to look at a famous area among Dungeons & Dragons fans. We are going to be talking about Sword Coast North, as our adventurers will start their journey in a city beloved by many in this area. Compromised of rough landscapes of rugged hills, Ice covered mountains, and dense forests. It's home to several like-minded cites, and they banded together with nearby allies to form an alliance. The alliance is known as the Lords' Alliance, but we'll get back to that later. Our adventurers will start their journey in the well known city of Neverwinter. This city is known for it's craftsfolk and gardeners. It's known around Faerûn as "The Jewel to the North". This well-established city is an architectural wonder with all of it's multi-colored glass lamps, precision water clocks, exquisite jewelry, and magnificent gardens. Volo once regarded it as "the most cosmopolitan and civilized city in all of Faerûn. The member is in good standing with this group, The Lords' Alliance. They actually have a post within the city. We continue on with this adventure, as we have to hurry. Our first job giver is some sort of rush to get to Phandalin. A small town South of Neverwinter. It's a small settlement that's re-building off the old ruins from the city that once was. This strange dwarf, named Gundren Rockseeker, has posted a job on the local job board outside of the Lords Alliance post. As you walk up to this post, you happen to look around and notice there are a few other adventurers who are also walking up to look for work. You read this job and look around. You need 4 - 8 heroic adventurers to escort a wagon full of provisions & goods from Neverwinter down to Phandalin. It says you will be dropping the wagon off at a local trade post called Barthen's Provisions. This sounds the start to a very promising adventure doesn't it? This is just a sample of what's to come for our next party that enters the Heroes of Faerûn campaign.

This icy land of windswept tundra recently became locked in a perpetual, dark winter. Auril the Frostmaiden, the divine embodiment of winter's fury, has withdrawn to this cold corner of the world to live among mortals. Further, she has cast a terrible spell over Icewind Dale, to the detriment of most of its denizens. Each night before midnight, Auril takes to the sky on the back of a white roc and weaves her spell, which manifests as a shimmering curtain of light. This powerful magic prevents the next day's sun from rising above the horizon, turning midday into twilight and trapping Icewind Dale in winter's dark embrace, with no sunlight or warmth to melt the snow and ice. Travelers are discouraged from approaching or leaving Icewind Dale, further isolating the region. Icewind Dale has thus been trapped in a different reality from the rest of the world. Come with us on and epic adventure (up to lvl 11 - we can continue past this with a good party that sticks around), and explore the the lands of the north. Will you help Icewind Dale remove the magical forces that creates a forever cold, dark, and dreadful experience for the locals? Or will you meet the wrath of the Frostmaiden? Only time will tell as you explore the land to the north. Bring a heavy coat and some good seeing goggles, because we're about to go on an adventure you won't forget. Icewind Dale holds some pretty tough terrain and experiences as we go on this journey. It's time to become a legend of Ten Towns. Are you ready? Because the Frostmaiden is ready to do anything in her powers to stop you from messing with her forever cold home!
